Hunyuan Image 3.5 and Hy Image 3.5 are the same model

Tencent markets its image models under the Hunyuan name and also shortens it to "Hy". Searches for Hunyuan Image 3.5, Hy Image 3.5, Hy-Image-3.5-Preview and hy-image-v3.5-preview all refer to the same release. "Preview" is part of the official name at launch, not a separate lighter model.

The model generates from a text prompt, from reference images, or from both, and it can apply an instruction to an image it produced a moment earlier.

What changed from Hunyuan Image 3.0

Tencent describes three practical changes. Each one matters most when a brief takes more than one attempt to get right.

  • Reference images: up to 20 per request, up from three. A single brief can point at a subject, a palette, a product and a layout at the same time.
  • One model for making and editing: text-to-image and instruction editing are no longer separate endpoints.
  • Multi-round context: the previous image and the conversation so far can travel with the next request, so a fourth revision still knows what the first one was for.
  • Resolution: direct generation up to 4096 × 4096 when 4K is explicitly requested.

Published price and how it is billed

Tencent Cloud lists Hy Image 3.5 Preview at $0.024 per 2K image and charges only for output images; reference images are not billed. That is Tencent's own API price. This workspace charges credits for the routes it actually runs and shows each quote before you submit.

Can you use Hunyuan Image 3.5 here today?

Not yet. Tencent currently serves the model through Tencent Cloud's API, which this independent workspace does not run on. Hy Image 3.5 Preview is listed in the model selector and disabled, so no request is ever sent or billed under its name.

What you can do today is generate with Hunyuan Image 3.0 — the direct predecessor — plus Hunyuan Image 3.0 Instruct for detailed briefs and an editing route that takes up to two reference images. Every new account receives a one-time grant that covers one Hunyuan Image 3.0 image.
